D-Plant Hobby Tunnels or Kitchen-Garden Polytunnels gives the home gardener the pleasure of growing their own vegetables and flowers in a controlled environment. Each year as the weather improves, people begin to think about planting, however, how do you go about it?

Well, in order to begin, a D-Plant Polytunnel would be the perfect start!

Tunnel Sizes

The Garden Tunnels are available 12’ (3.7m) wide and 7'6"(2.3m) centre height.
They come in three lengths- 13' (4m), 20' (6m) and 26' (8m) long.
The garden tunnel gives the gardener plenty of room to move around and work right out to the sides without obstruction

We also produce a larger 18'(5.5m) tunnel for the the gardener who requires a more spacious growing area or someone who requires a small commercial tunnel.

These come in lengths of 24'(7.4m), 32'(9.8m), 40’(12.3m),48'(14.8m) and 56'(17.2) long.
They have a centre height of 9’(2.7m). High enough to operate a garden tractor in.
Large commercial tunnels from 21'(6.4m) to 30'(9.2m) wide are also available.
Multi-span polytunnels are made to order. These structures have up to 30'(9.2m) wide spans and can be made to any overall size

The Advantages of a D-Plant Polytunnel

D-Plant Polytunnels are an Irish made product supporting local employment and local industry.
All our tunnels are supplied with a 5 year polythene which has ultra violet light inhibitor to protect it from break down by the suns rays.
Our tunnels have very good head clearance right out to the sides giving ample room to work and even room to operate a mechanical tiller with comfort. This gives you the full value of your tunnel with no unreachable or unworkable area going to waste.
All our Garden Tunnel structures are made from gun-barrel steel which has an outside diameter of 33.7mm and a wall thickness of 2.6mm fully galvanised inside and out with no welded or painted joints.
Most other polytunnels on the market are made from the lighter Z35 steel tubing. Because D-Plant’s tunnel structures are made from gun barrel steel they are up to 60% heavier than our competitors making them one of the most durable on the market.

Polytunnel Uses

Use as a nursery to raise seedlings and root cuttings for your flower garden.
Raise vegetable plants for planting out in the veg garden getting a head start on the season and saving money on expensive garden centre plants.
Grow the more tender plants like tomatoes, sweet pepper and cucumbers- which don't do well out of doors in the Irish climate.
Over winter tender perennials protecting them from the ravages of wind and rain.
Grow early potatoes; a January planting should be ready for harvest in May.
There is SOMETHING to be grown and harvested every month of the year. Experiment!!!
Put a clothes line in it. Temporary storage.The list is endless.
